CULTURAL EXCURSIONS

Our cultural excursions are an initiative designed to help ESL teachers who will be teaching in South Korea, experience and explore a bit of Korea, to hopefully better adapt to the social norms and new environment allowing them to integrate smoothly into the Korean society. The program consists of various activities and excursions that are planned in hopes to orientate and inform new teachers.

The importance of gaining an understanding of the language, history, and culture is imperative to adapting and teaching in South Korea. Many of the issues that one will face when teaching in a foreign country vastly different from their own, is mostly rooted in cultural differences and the language barrier. There are the obvious big differences in culture, but there are also minute differences that may not be identified easily.

Our cultural excursion activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Hanbok fitting
  • Visiting Gyeongbokgung palace
  • Korean cooking class
  • Korean language class
  • Visiting Insadong
  • A tour within the War Memorial of Korea
